WHAT POSITIVE CHANGES HAVE WE MADE TO THE TOWN CENTRE?
Town & District Centre Management (TCM) is active in making
Croydon a pleasant place to work and visit. We pressed for the bollards
which keep vehicles out of the main pedestrian area during shopping
hours and for action against illegal street traders. We were also
involved in setting up Croydon's distinctive, orange uniformed,
Street Warden scheme. Town & District Centre Management works
hard to increase communication between all the Town Centre retailers,
organising regular meetings and distributing our Town Centre Newsletter
which keeps store managers up to date with what is happening in
the Town Centre, when and why.
TCM now has control over North End and will be
providing a varied and interesting range of events and activities
to make shopping in Croydon a great day out.
DO YOU HAVE TO BE IN THE TOWN CENTRE TO
BENEFIT FROM THE HELP OF TCM?
TCM is keen to work closely with businesses throughout the borough,
especially in Croydon's many and varied District Centres. It is
always more effective when businesses speak together on an issue
and our role is to help provide and direct that voice.

Town Centre events and activities are assessed by a management
board consisting of both private and public sector representatives
who decide the suitability of activities. We are developing plans
to bring exciting and innovative events to Croydon and attract
people to the town centre, who enjoy their experience and come
back time and time again.
Our aim is to expand the events programme into the District Centres
to also create lively, welcoming and exciting areas outside of
the Town Centre. We are interested in liasing with businesses
in the District Centres to understand their requirements and to
find the most suitable activities.
Croydon Town Centre has a number of locations which you can use
to promote your products and services
If you are thinking of doing any promotional activity/market
research/leafleting in the town centre, please contact us as you
will need a letter of authorisation (issued by Town Centre management)
which has to be produced upon request, from your dedicated pitch,
in the town centre.
