CROYDON TOWN CENTRE BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT
After a successful ballot, the BID started on April 1st 2007 and will operate for a 5 year term.  It will be committed to enhancing Croydon’s image, profile and competitiveness in order to develop its position as a leading commercial and cultural centre in the South East.

The BID will generate an investment in excess of £5 million for the town centre area over the next 5 years.  This will come from a small levy collected from the eligible businesses. It is intended other funding opportunities will be secured. The BID team and Board, consisting of local business representatives, will act to deliver the projects and services that the businesses themselves have voted for.  These services are additional and will not replace the existing council services. The overall objectives are:

  • To create a safer and more secure area.
  • To improve the perception and image of Croydon.
  • To make Croydon a cleaner and more attractive environment.
  • To improve the accessibility to and within the area.
  • To act as a facilitator and collective voice for the businesses.
